On behalf of the NZ Esri Users Group Committee, we regretfully inform you that the upcoming NZEUG Regional User Conference series for 2020 (RUCs20) has been cancelled. This includes any Learning Labs that were associated with these events.

This is in direct response to the Covid-19 virus threat. Although as of today there is no conceivable threat to the wellbeing of our conference attendees, our members, our partners, our sponsors and ourselves; we cannot guarantee that this will be the case in two weeks’ time.
Our pre-emptive decision is to be sure we allow enough time for people to change or alter any personal or professional arrangements they had put in place to attend these events.
This is not a decision that the committee has taken lightly, and is definitely a first for NZEUG as an organisation.

Further to that, any persons who have paid to attend these events will receive a FULL refund, all sponsors who have paid to contribute to the success of RUCs20 will receive a FULL refund.
We are working hard with our Events & Technology Partner, Eagle Technology, to ensure we still deliver some benefit to all of those who would have attended these events. This will be in the form of virtual or digital experience.

Plans have already been made to deliver a LIVE webinar of the Esri Tech Update – this will be done by Eagle Technology on 31st March from 10am-12pm. More details about this will be made publicly available on Friday 13th March. All of those registered for the events, as well as NZEUG Members, will be emailed more detail about this on Friday also.
Further plans are being made to also deliver a NZEUG webinar, or series of webinars, showcasing the user stories which would have been presented at RUCs20. Discussions will be held with all of the presenters and then more detail will be made available at a later date.
Although all of these plans are not what was expected, it is the goal of the committee to still provide some value to our Esri users and the wider geospatial community of NZ.
