About OSPRI

OSPRI’s mission is to strengthen and evolve New Zealand’s animal health, biosecurity and traceability systems. We provide a range of services to support the agricultural sector through the management of our two programmes TBfree and NAIT (National Animal Identification and Tracing).

About the role

As part of OSPRI’s small data team, this role works closely with OSPRI Business Units to produce clear and accurate information products and analysis, and ensure users of the OSPRI GIS platform are supported, and can rely on the platform for their own needs.

This permanent full-time role is based Wellington, within a short walk from the Railway Station.

What we’re looking for

Are you proficient in utilising GIS software to create spatial information products? Are you equally comfortable working with minimal supervision or as part of team, while sharing your GIS knowledge and skills with others?  If you answer yes to these questions, this is a great opportunity to apply your passion and knowledge of GIS to nationally significant programmes?

To succeed you will need to be able to develop, implement, and maintain critical datasets, layers, and map documents to ensure the accuracy and reliability of information for the end users.  You’ll be confident in applying GIS capabilities to OSPRI’s operational needs and developing effective solutions.  In addition, we are looking for someone who is experienced in conducting GIS platform user education and training.
