Geospatial Information Systems and Services is a high-performance team that will focus on high value and innovation-focused services that will provide a comprehensive geospatial view of Auckland to all stakeholders. The team has an emphasis on providing relevant, effective and efficient geospatial services while also ensuring they are up to speed with industry trends that can integrate across the full ICT environment.
You will be overseeing and performing application implementation and production administration while providing geospatial technical leadership across multiple business initiatives. You will oversee the management of the GIS environments and the administration tasks with the System Specialist ensuring health checks and database tuning is carried out in a timely manner. You will be leader within the Geospatial team driving improvements, documentation and dataset integrity. You will head up the coding, testing and troubleshooting programs utilizing the appropriate hardware while overlooking the design, develop, test, deploy and technical support for GIS technologies.
To be successful in this position you will have the following:
Tertiary Level Qualification (Bachelor Degree Minimum), preferably in Computer Science, Geospatial Information Systems, Information Management, Remote Sensing or extensive relevant business experience.
8+ years experience in deployment of technologies that include Java, Python, ArcObjects, Visual Basic, VBScript, ASP, HTML, SQL or XML
Experience with application development technical requirement analysis, business process modelling/mapping, methodology developer and data modelling
8+ years experience in technical leadership roles in a GIS environment as well as working at an enterprise level integrating different GIS technologies
