The Geospatial Team is a high-performance ICT team that focuses on high value and innovation-focused services that provide a comprehensive geospatial view of Auckland to their stakeholders. The team has an emphasis on providing relevant, effective and efficient geospatial services while also ensuring they are up to speed with industry trends that can integrate across the full ICT environment.

The Opportunity:

The Geospatial Governance and Service Enhancement Team are responsible for providing data governance and high level services to Auckland Council. They believe in building relationships and collaborating to support users of geospatial solutions and drive innovation and capability. They also focus on continuous customer service improvements and look to enhance the way in which users of geospatial information and technology operate.

Your key responsibilities will be to lead continual improvement in the scope, quality and management of geospatial data and the processes supporting business users. You will ensure integrity of geospatial information by enforcing data standards, restrictions and licence agreements. You will also collaborate with geospatial users to assist their requirements and advise on their business processes.

To be successful in this position you will have the following:

5+ years’ experience of Esri and/or Safe Software preferably within an enterprise sized environment
5+ years’ experience in designing and building geospatial databases
Experience and knowledge of national and international data governance best practise and data standards
Proactive nature
Continuous improvement mind-set
Tertiary Level Qualification (Bachelor Degree Minimum), preferably in Computer Science, GIS, Geospatial Information Systems, Information Management or have extensive relevant business experience
