Council spatial information spans everything from flooding, property information, assets, Civil Defence emergencies, infrastructure and environment, right through to parks, sports and cycle tracks. We deliver spatial data solutions for the business as well as data sharing with external partners and the community.
In this role you will work with the IT Spatial Team and help to deliver the technology stream of the spatial strategy programme of work. We are looking to build a modern and highly connected platform using best of breed technology from a variety of vendors; including developing on the existing Hexagon GeoMedia Suite and new addition of ESRI ArcGIS for Enterprise and FME Desktop & Server. The platform includes a loosely-coupled and flexible architecture that recognizes spatial data as an asset and delivers a great user experience promoting self-service and innovation.
You will have a solid background in Spatial Information and Spatial Technology and be at ease with knowledge sharing across the team. Setting the customer at the heart of what you do, you will love working alongside a diverse and enthusiastic team, partnering with the business to deliver quality solutions.
To complement those skills you will:
- have experience and be comfortable with web-services and web-based applications, including maps and viewers (useful competencies include ESRI ArcGIS for Enterprise suite, FME Server, Leaflet API)
- have strong competency with databases, including schema design, data modelling, spatial data and how applications and programs interact with databases (useful competencies include Microsoft SQL Server Spatial)
- have an understanding of IT architecture and processes including ETL and integration
