Website Horizons Regional Council
Are you organised, a systems thinker, and want a GIS data management job that can make a real difference to the environment?
Horizons region extends over 22,200km² – from Ruapehu in the north and Horowhenua in the south, to Whanganui in the west and Tararua in the east. It is a landscape as vast and varied as the over 240,000 people who call it home. At Horizons Regional Council we work to make our region a great place to live, work and play.
The Sustainable Land Use Initiative is the largest regional hill-country erosion control programme in New Zealand, covering over half a million hectares of farm plans and 37,000 hectares of erosion control tree planting and retirement. It is based on strong erosion priority and works mapping. We want you to help the Land Team provide information about our SLUI programme to our funders and users.
This is a 3½ year fixed term role based in Regional House, Palmerston North. Your main duties will be entering farm mapping and environmental grant data into our geodatabase, data quality control, and creating map and data outputs. You will also support the Land Team with E-Grants and soil health programmes.
