About the job
Our Geographical Information System (GIS) team are a talented group of people and apply their expertise, knowledge, and passion in the work they do for our clients every day. This is an exciting opportunity to join our property team and contribute to important projects that impact all New Zealanders such as transport, housing, and education. Some of the work you will be involved with on a typical day could be anything from identifying optimal site locations using spatial and network analysis to creating bespoke geospatial web-based solutions for clients to manage large infrastructure projects.
Our preference would be for this role to be based from our Napier office but we will also consider a role based from our Hamilton or Wellington office. The hours for this role can either be a part-time or full-time position and we are open to discuss how a flexible arrangement can work for you and the team.

You will stand out to us if you have the following
With a minimum of two years of experience in web and mobile GIS, you have a sound understanding of interactive technology and the ability to develop and manage web mapping applications.
You are confident in the use of ESRI suite of products with knowledge of ArcGIS or ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, and basic understanding of ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Pro. Experience with and understanding of ArcGIS Urban will be beneficial, but not required.
You will be comfortable dealing with clients and be committed to delivering a superior client experience, acting as a problem-solver and thinking creatively to find solutions for our clients. A background in a consultancy environment would be a plus but not a deal breaker.
You will be a top-notch communicator who can write and present your ideas clearly and confidently. Most importantly you will be focused on quality and always take pride in your work.
With a variety of projects constantly on the go, you’ll be a team player and happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. You are accountable and take responsibility for your contribution within a multi team project delivery. Building strong relationships and working collaboratively will be second nature to you.
You will be passionate about introducing GIS opportunities through all our consultancy work. You will be proactive in finding opportunities and business development for GIS to add value in our current property work.
You recognise, understand and appreciate the importance of accountability and responsibility for your role and contribution to a project delivered by multi team members and to deliver same within budget, in a timely manner and to the level of quality expected.
